Exodus 4:2-4

² The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”

And he said, “A rod.”

³ He said, “Throw it on the ground.”

And he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent. Then Moses fled from it. ⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Put forth your hand and take it by the tail.” And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand.
